The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairpersons in its meeting, held on 18th February, 2026 vide agenda item No. 5, unanimously decided to increase the number of examination attempts/chances from four (4) to six (6), which may be availed within a period of four (4) consecutive years.

- This policy shall be implemented with effect from Annual Examination 2024, and its applicability shall extend uniformly to all groups/disciplines, i.e., Matric, Intermediate, Matric/Intermediate or O/A Levels, Al Sanvia Ama and Al Sanvia Khasa, as well as all candidates who, after passing the said examinations, appear for additional subject(s) examinations.
- However, the students availing these additional chances/attempts shall be bound to appear in the current/prevailing syllabus at the time of their attempts/chances.
