Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Merit Scholarship Scheme
The complete details and procedure of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Merit Scholarship Scheme are as follows:
This scheme is for students who excel in their studies and maintain a competitive spirit.
1. Who can apply? (Eligibility Criteria)
Marks requirement: All students who have secured 80% or more marks in their most recent semester results.
Level: Matric, FA, BA, B.Ed, BS, MPhil and PhD, i.e. students of all levels are eligible.
Complete Semester: The student must have passed all the courses of that semester (no paper failed or no course dropped).
Time limit: Only students who are within the prescribed duration of the degree (e.g. 4 or 8 semesters) are eligible. If a student takes more than the stipulated time, he will not be eligible even if he gets 80% marks.
2. Scholarship Amount
The scholarship amount is determined by the funds available with the university and the number of applicants:
If there are more applicants, the funds are divided equally among all.
The amount will not exceed the total fees for that semester in any case.
3 . Allocated Amount
The university has divided the funds into the following three parts:
30% funds: for Matriculation, FA, ADE, BA (or equivalent).
60% funds: for B.Ed (all durations), BS (4 years), M.Ed and Masters.
10% funds: for MS, MPhil and PhD.
- Application Procedure (SOP)
Application Form: The student has to fill the specific form of Merit Scholarship.
Required Documents: The original Challan Form (Student Copy), Copy of Result Card and other necessary academic documents must be attached with the form.
Submission: All these documents must be submitted to your respective Regional Office.
Verification: The Regional Director will verify your marks and details and forward the application to the Main Campus (Islamabad).
Final Approval: After the approval of the Main Campus Committee and the Vice Chancellor, the Treasurer Department will issue a cheque to the selected students.
5 . Important Terms and Restrictions
Deadline: Application must be made within 45 days of the declaration of results. No application will be considered after 45 days, even if the marks are more than 80%.
No Double Benefit: If a student has already availed any financial assistance from the university, he/she will not be entitled to the Merit Scholarship. Only one benefit can be availed at a time.
Direct Application: In exceptional circumstances, a student can send his application directly to the Directorate of Student Advisory and Counselling Services, but in normal circumstances it is necessary to send it through the Regional Office.
If your marks are 80% or above, do not delay and contact your nearest Open University Regional Office immediately after the results are out so that your application can be submitted before the deadline.

یہ اسکیم ان طلبہ کے لیے ہے جو پڑھائی میں بہترین کارکردگی دکھاتے ہیں اور مقابلے کی فضا کو برقرار رکھتے ہیں۔
1. کون اپلائی کر سکتا ہے؟ (اہلیت کا معیار)
نمبروں کی شرط: وہ تمام طلبہ جنہوں نے اپنے حالیہ سمسٹر کے رزلٹ میں 80% یا اس سے زیادہ نمبر حاصل کیے ہوں۔
کون سے لیول: میٹرک، ایف اے، بی اے، بی ایڈ، بی ایس، ایم فل اور پی ایچ ڈی، یعنی تمام لیولز کے طلبہ اہل ہیں۔
کمل سمسٹر: طالب علم نے اس سمسٹر کے تمام کورسز پاس کیے ہوں (کوئی پیپر فیل نہ ہو اور نہ ہی کوئی کورس چھوڑا ہو)۔
وقت کی پابندی: ڈگری کے مقررہ دورانیے (مثلاً 4 یا 8 سمسٹرز) کے اندر رہنے والے طلبہ ہی اہل ہیں۔ اگر کوئی طالب علم مقررہ وقت سے زیادہ عرصہ لگائے گا تو وہ 80% نمبر لینے کے باوجود اہل نہیں ہوگا۔
2. اسکالرشپ کی رقم
اسکالرشپ کی رقم کا تعین یونیورسٹی کے پاس موجود فنڈز اور درخواست گزاروں کی تعداد پر ہوتا ہے:
اگر درخواست گزار زیادہ ہوں تو فنڈز سب میں برابر تقسیم کر دیے جاتے ہیں۔
رقم کسی بھی صورت میں اس سمسٹر کی کل فیس سے زیادہ نہیں ہوگی۔
3 . کوٹہ کی تقسیم (Allocated Amount)
یونیورسٹی نے فنڈز کو درج ذیل تین حصوں میں تقسیم کیا ہے:
30% فنڈز: میٹرک، ایف اے، اے ڈی ای، بی اے (یا مساوی) کے لیے۔
60% فنڈز: بی ایڈ (تمام دورانیے)، بی ایس (4 سالہ)، ایم ایڈ اور ماسٹرز کے لیے۔
10% فنڈز: ایم ایس، ایم فل اور پی ایچ ڈی کے لیے۔
- درخواست دینے کا طریقہ کار (SOP)
درخواست فارم: طالب علم کو میرٹ اسکالرشپ کا مخصوص فارم بھرنا ہوگا۔
ضروری دستاویزات: فارم کے ساتھ اصل چالان فارم (سٹوڈنٹ کاپی)، رزلٹ کارڈ کی کاپی اور دیگر ضروری تعلیمی دستاویزات منسلک کرنا ہوں گی۔
جمع کروانا: یہ تمام دستاویزات اپنے متعلقہ ریجنل آفس (Regional Office) میں جمع کروانی ہوں گی۔
تصدیق: ریجنل ڈائریکٹر آپ کے نمبروں اور تفصیلات کی تصدیق کرے گا اور درخواست مین کیمپس (اسلام آباد) کو بھیجے گا۔
حتمی منظوری: مین کیمپس کی کمیٹی اور وائس چانسلر کی منظوری کے بعد، ٹریژرار ڈیپارٹمنٹ کی طرف سے منتخب طلبہ کو چیک (Cheque) جاری کیا جائے گا۔
5 . اہم شرائط اور پابندیاں
وقت کی حد (Deadline): رزلٹ آنے کے 45 دن کے اندر درخواست دینا لازمی ہے۔ 45 دن گزرنے کے بعد کسی بھی درخواست پر غور نہیں کیا جائے گا، چاہے نمبر 80% سے زیادہ ہی کیوں نہ ہوں۔
دوہرا فائدہ نہیں: اگر کسی طالب علم نے پہلے ہی یونیورسٹی سے کوئی مالی امداد (Financial Assistance) لی ہوئی ہے، تو وہ میرٹ اسکالرشپ کا حقدار نہیں ہوگا۔ ایک وقت میں صرف ایک ہی فائدہ لیا جا سکتا ہے۔
براہِ راست درخواست: غیر معمولی حالات میں طالب علم اپنی درخواست براہِ راست ‘ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف سٹوڈنٹ ایڈوائزری اینڈ کونسلنگ سروسز’ کو بھیج سکتا ہے، لیکن عام حالات میں ریجنل آفس کے ذریعے ہی بھیجنا ضروری ہے۔
اگر آپ کے نمبر 80 فیصد یا اس سے زیادہ ہیں، تو دیر نہیں کرنا اور رزلٹ آتے ہی فوری طور پر اپنے قریبی اوپن یونیورسٹی کے علاقائی دفتر (Regional Office) سے رابطہ کریں تاکہ وقت ختم ہونے سے پہلے آپ کی درخواست جمع ہو سکے۔
