Important and welcome development for teachers by Punjab Education Department
A big piece of good news has come out for teachers at the beginning of the year in the context of educational reforms led by Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat. The Education Department has introduced a clear policy regarding scale upgradation of teachers, under which the teaching cadre is being divided into two basic categories:
🔹 1.
School Teacher — Scale 16 ST
This category will combine former primary school teachers and elementary school teachers to create harmony and transparency in the teaching structure.
🔹 2.
Senior School Teacher — Scale 17 SST
This grade will include all former SSTs, which will further strengthen the role of experienced teachers.
📌 Important instruction:
All school teachers whose educational qualification is MA / MSc will be required to perform teaching duties from ECCE (Grade 12). They can be posted at any location according to departmental needs, and refusal of this posting will not be acceptable.
This initiative will be an important step towards improving educational quality, effective utilization of manpower.

محکمۂ تعلیم پنجاب کی جانب سے اساتذہ کے لیے اہم اور خوش آئند پیش رفت
وزیرِ تعلیم پنجاب رانا سکندر حیات کی قیادت میں تعلیمی اصلاحات کے سلسلے میں سال کے آغاز پر اساتذہ کے لیے ایک بڑی خوشخبری سامنے آئی ہے۔ محکمۂ تعلیم نے اساتذہ کے سکیل اپ گریڈیشن سے متعلق واضح پالیسی متعارف کرا دی ہے، جس کے تحت تدریسی کیڈر کو دو بنیادی کیٹیگریز میں تقسیم کیا جا رہا ہے:

۔ سکول ٹیچر — سکیل 16 ST
اس کیٹیگری میں سابقہ پرائمری سکول ٹیچرز اور ایلیمنٹری سکول ٹیچرز کو یکجا کیا جائے گا تاکہ تدریسی ڈھانچے میں ہم آہنگی اور شفافیت پیدا ہو۔
🔹 2
۔ سینیئر سکول ٹیچر — سکیل
17 SST
اس گریڈ میں تمام سابقہ ایس ایس ٹی شامل ہوں گے، جس سے تجربہ کار اساتذہ کے کردار کو مزید مضبوط بنایا جائے گا۔
📌 اہم ہدایت :
وہ تمام سکول ٹیچرز جن کی تعلیمی قابلیت ایم اے / ایم ایس سی ہے، انہیں ECCE سے (گریڈ 12) میں تدریسی فرائض سرانجام دینے کا پابند کیا جائے گا۔ ان کی تعیناتی محکمانہ ضرورت کے مطابق کسی بھی مقام پر کی جا سکتی ہے، اور اس تعیناتی سے انکار قابلِ قبول نہیں ہوگا۔
یہ اقدام تعلیمی معیار کی بہتری، افرادی قوت کے مؤثر استعمال اہم قدم ہے۔
